Thank You
for your generous support of the
Uvalde Youth Rodeo Club!
We are gearing up for our 2023 Rodeo Season with our Summer Series and our 60th Annual Rodeo which will be held on July 22nd. As we work to make final preparations for our scheduled events, we are reaching out to our previous sponsors to offer some great sponsorship opportunities which will allow us to continue the mission of the Uvalde Youth Rodeo Club.
Our sponsors are recognized on our website, Facebook page, on the radio, during all of our scheduled events with the help of our announcers, rolling Uvalde County Fairplex digital advertisements and also have the ability to display a sponsor-provided banner at all of our events. We are proud of our community and sponsors and make every effort to promote and recognize our sponsors who are instrumental to the success of the club.
The Uvalde Youth Rodeo Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a supportive, family-friendly environment while educating the Uvalde and surrounding area youth about the sport of rodeo, horsemanship and sportsmanship. In the past, we have been able to offer some invaluable learning opportunities through clinics sponsored by the Uvalde Youth Rodeo Club. Some of those clinics include hosting Amber Crawford, a qualifier in The American, one of the most prestigious rodeo events in the country, who spent three days with our members and their families leading a breakaway clinic. We have had the opportunity to host Justin Maass of Maass Performance Horses multiple times. Justin is an 8-time qualifier for the National Finals Rodeo, a Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame Cowboy and the only back-to-back winner of the PRCA/AQHA Tie-Down Horse of the Year Award on two different horses.
We believe these clinics are essential to cultivating the skills needed for young athletes to continue their equine-related endeavors and position them for the opportunity to become a Texas Junior High School Rodeo Association, Texas High School Rodeo Association, College National Finals Rodeo competitor or a National Collegiate Athletic Association athlete, all of which have been products of the Uvalde Youth Rodeo Club. Inarguably, the experience gained by opportunities offered by the Uvalde Youth Rodeo Club have positioned our members to be able to earn and even secure scholarships that will help pay for their college education.
Our 59th annual rodeo brought over 130 contestants who made more than 500 runs and was one of the largest rodeos in many years. We had competitors who ranged from 5 to 18 who competed in cloverleaf barrels, straight barrels, pole bending, goat slapping, goat tying, breakaway roping, ribbon roping, tie-down roping, and team roping. We had the privilege of awarding some wonderful prizes including custom buckles and custom saddles in addition to some other great prizes for our young competitors. This event brought many families from surrounding areas to our community who purchased meals from our local restaurants, filled up with fuel at our local gas stations, stayed overnight at our local hotels, purchased feed from our local feed stores and shopped at our local small businesses. They also learned about the sponsors whose contributions allowed this event to happen. Events like this help put our little community on the map and help build a positive reputation for our wonderful Uvalde County Fairplex.
Our sponsors are one of the biggest reasons we have the opportunity to make this organization and its members so incredibly successful and for that we are truly grateful. Thank you for considering reaching into your pockets to help make such a positive impact on our community and on our youth. We have had the privilege of receiving multiple compliments about our community, our families, our facility and our club. We want you to know those compliments extend to our sponsors as well.
